Experimental T-Cell combo targets Hard-to-Treat leukemia
NCT ID NCT07374029
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new approach for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that combines a personalized vaccine made from the patient's own immune and leukemia cells, specially trained T-cells, and two standard chemotherapy drugs. The study aims to see if this combination is safe and feasible for 30 adults with AML. Participants will receive the vaccine, T-cell infusions, and standard decitabine and venetoclax therapy.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
DC/AML fusion vaccine, T-cell therapy, decitabine, venetoclax, and GM-CSF
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with acute myeloid leukemia that combines immune-boosting cells with standard chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
This is a very early phase 1 trial with only 30 participants, so it is primarily testing safety and feasibility. The treatment may not work, and there are risks like cytokine release syndrome and infections.
