Faster stitch for prostate surgery? study tests new thread

NCT ID NCT06055946

Summary

This study tested a new type of self-anchoring surgical thread (Symmcora®) used to reconnect the bladder after robot-assisted prostate removal for cancer. The main goal was to see if using this thread made the reconnection step faster than standard methods, while keeping complication rates low. Researchers followed 70 men after their surgery to measure surgery time, recovery, and various outcomes like continence and erectile function.
