New patch aims to stop surgical bleeding faster

NCT ID NCT05385952

Summary

This study tested a new medical patch called GATT-Patch against a standard patch (TachoSil) to see which works better at stopping bleeding during planned open liver surgery. It involved 132 patients who had minimal to moderate bleeding that standard techniques couldn't easily control. The main goal was to see if the new patch could stop the bleeding within 3 minutes and keep it stopped.
