Summary

This study is testing a new surgical technique designed to lower the risk of dangerous leaks where the stomach is reconnected to the esophagus after cancer removal. It will involve 73 adults with esophageal cancer undergoing a specific type of minimally invasive surgery. The technique uses a special fluorescent dye to check blood flow and wraps the connection with a protective tissue flap.
