New surgery aims to save stomach, prevent severe weight loss in cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07260461
Summary
This study is testing a new surgical technique for early-stage cancer in the upper part of the stomach. It compares removing just the cancerous portion of the stomach (which aims to preserve digestive function) against the standard procedure of removing the entire stomach. The main goal is to see if patients who get the new surgery lose less body weight one year later and have a better quality of life.
