Silicone disc implant aims to fix backs after surgery

Summary

This is the first human study of a new silicone implant designed to replace the damaged cushion in a spinal disc after surgery for a herniated disc. It aims to see if the implant is safe and can help control pain and prevent future problems. The study will include 50 adults with severe back and leg pain from a single herniated disc in the lower back.
