New gel could shield cancer patients from painful radiation burns
NCT ID NCT07081074
Summary
This study is testing a new skin treatment designed to prevent and reduce the severity of painful skin burns (radiation dermatitis) caused by radiotherapy in head and neck cancer patients. The treatment is a gel made from natural amino acids that aims to protect the skin by neutralizing harmful molecules produced during radiation. Researchers will compare the new gel to standard care in 40 patients to see if it is safe and helps patients complete their cancer treatment with fewer skin problems.
