New vaccine enters race to prevent painful shingles

Summary
This study is testing an investigational vaccine called CRV-101 to see if it is as safe and effective as the currently available Shingrix vaccine for preventing shingles. It involves about 1,500 healthy adults aged 50 and older who will receive two shots. Researchers will compare side effects and the body's immune response between the new vaccine and Shingrix over 14 months, with some participants followed for up to 5 years.
