New sedative aims to reduce breathing risks during lung scans

NCT ID NCT07395596

Summary

This study is testing whether a new sedative drug called remimazolam can make bronchoscopy procedures safer for high-risk patients. Bronchoscopy involves inserting a camera into the lungs and often requires sedation, but current sedatives can sometimes cause breathing problems. Researchers will compare the new sedative to the standard one to see if it reduces oxygen drops, helps patients wake up faster, and causes fewer side effects.
