New scan could improve detection of childhood nerve cancer

Summary
This study tests whether a new type of scan (18F-MFBG PET/CT or PET/MRI) can find neuroblastoma tumors as well as the current standard scan (123I-MIBG). About 84 children and adults with newly diagnosed, high-risk neuroblastoma will receive both scans at different times. The goal is to see if the new scan is just as accurate, which could lead to better tumor detection and treatment planning.
