New scan could spot dangerous protein clumps without surgery

NCT ID NCT06974877

Summary

This study is testing a new radioactive dye used during PET/CT scans to find and track clumps of protein called amyloidosis. Amyloidosis is a rare side effect that can happen in people with a genetic immune disease (CAPS) who take the drug anakinra. Researchers want to see if this scan can safely detect these clumps in internal organs without needing a tissue biopsy.
