New Triple-Threat treatment trial aims to shrink rectal tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT07297030

Summary

This study is testing a new combination treatment for people with high-risk, locally advanced rectal cancer. The goal is to see if a shorter, more intense course of radiation, given alongside chemotherapy and an immunotherapy drug, can shrink tumors more effectively before surgery. Researchers will measure how many patients have their cancer completely disappear and monitor the safety of this approach.
