Targeted radiation could make risky pediatric transplants safer

NCT ID NCT06075563

Summary

This study is testing a new, more targeted form of radiation (TLI) given before a stem cell transplant from a half-matched family donor in children. It aims to see if this method is better than the standard whole-body radiation at helping the transplant succeed while causing fewer serious side effects like graft-versus-host disease. The researchers will compare the new approach in up to 23 children with a similar group of past patients who received the standard treatment.
