Targeted radiation blast tested for tough pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT07173374

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a new, more precise type of radiation therapy for people with locally advanced pancreatic cancer that cannot be surgically removed. The technique, called SCART, aims to deliver a very high dose of radiation to the core of the tumor while trying to protect the surrounding healthy tissue. Researchers will slowly increase the radiation dose in small groups of patients to find the highest dose that is safe to give.
