New pill aims to tame early rheumatoid arthritis flares

Summary
This study is testing if a new oral drug called AP1189, when added to the standard medication methotrexate, can better control disease activity in people recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It will involve 240 participants who have not yet tried other powerful arthritis drugs. The goal is to see which of three different doses of AP1189 is most effective and safe over 12 weeks of treatment.
