Glowing probe could help surgeons see cancer spread, spare healthy tissue

NCT ID NCT07294638

Summary

This study is testing a new fluorescent imaging probe designed to help surgeons see if early stomach cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes during surgery. The goal is to accurately tell the difference between healthy and cancerous lymph nodes so that only the affected ones are removed, avoiding unnecessary surgery. Researchers will test the probe on tissue samples from patients with early gastric cancer to see how well it works.
