Glowing probe could spare stomach cancer patients unnecessary surgery

Summary

This study tests a new fluorescent dye that targets cancer cells to help doctors see which lymph nodes contain cancer during stomach cancer surgery. About 47 people with early stomach cancer will have their removed lymph nodes examined with this probe. The goal is to avoid removing healthy lymph nodes, making surgery safer and more precise.
