New scan could end guesswork for brain tumor patients after radiation

NCT ID NCT07511933

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of PET scan (Ga68-PSMA) to see if it can tell the difference between a growing tumor and radiation-caused damage in people with brain metastases from lung, melanoma, or breast cancer. About 100 adults who either have new brain metastases or a suspicious lesion after radiation will get the scan. The goal is to improve diagnosis so doctors can choose the right treatment without needing a biopsy.
