New PET tracer may solve brain scan mystery after radiation

NCT ID NCT07511933

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new type of PET scan that uses a special tracer (Ga68-PSMA) to see if it can tell the difference between a growing tumor and radiation damage in people with brain metastases from lung cancer, melanoma, or breast cancer. About 100 adults who have had radiation therapy will get the scan. The goal is to help doctors make better treatment decisions without needing a biopsy.
