New scan could revolutionize how doctors stage deadly cancers

Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET scan to see if it is better than current CT and MRI scans at finding out how far pancreatic or bile duct cancer has spread. The goal is to help doctors make more accurate treatment decisions from the start. The study will involve 120 patients who are newly diagnosed and eligible for treatment aimed at curing their cancer.
