New scan aims to spot spreading cancer earlier

NCT ID NCT07331532

Summary

This study is testing a new type of PET scan that uses a special tracer called 68Ga-PFA2. The goal is to see if this scan can better detect when cancer has spread (metastasized) in patients with lung, breast, or pancreatic tumors. Researchers will compare this new scan to the standard FDG-PET scan currently used. The study is enrolling 10 adult patients with confirmed lung cancer who are scheduled for a biopsy or surgery.
