New scan could reveal hidden brain tumors during immunotherapy

NCT ID NCT06159335

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a special PET scan (18F-Fluciclovine) to see if it can tell the difference between active brain tumors and harmless changes from radiation or immunotherapy. About 30 adults with brain metastases who had radiation in the last 2 years will get a single PET/MRI scan. The goal is to improve how doctors detect cancer, not to treat it.
