Faster, clearer scan for deadly lung clots?

NCT ID NCT04179539

Summary

This study tested a new type of PET scan to see if it could accurately diagnose pulmonary embolism (PE), which is a dangerous blood clot in the lungs. It compared the new scan to the current standard CT scan in 100 patients suspected of having a first-time clot. The goal was to see if the new method could provide a faster, more detailed picture to help doctors make the right diagnosis.
