New scan aims to spot hidden heart disease
NCT ID NCT07232459
Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET/CT scan that uses a special tracer called [18F]FT8. The goal is to see if this scan can better detect and diagnose a serious heart condition called AL amyloidosis, where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. Researchers will compare the new scan's results to standard tests like MRI and echocardiograms in 20 patients and 5 healthy volunteers to check its safety and accuracy.
