New scan spots hidden heart clots in rare disease

NCT ID NCT07560306

First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET scan using a tracer called [64Cu]FBP8 can detect blood clots inside the heart of people with cardiac amyloidosis and atrial fibrillation. Twenty participants will receive the tracer and undergo a combined PET/MRI scan. The goal is to see if this method is better than standard ultrasound at finding clots, which could help prevent strokes.
