New pill aims to tame debilitating shingles pain
NCT ID NCT07275762
Summary
This study is testing a new drug called Y-4 to see if it can safely reduce the long-lasting nerve pain some people get after a shingles rash heals. About 160 adults in China with this condition will take either the new Y-4 tablets or a standard pain medication (pregabalin) for 14 weeks. Researchers will compare how much each drug reduces daily pain scores and improves sleep and mood.
