New drug aims to ease teen pain after surgery with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT07229495

Summary

This study is testing a new pain medicine called Tegileridine for teenagers having surgery to correct scoliosis. Researchers want to see if it controls pain as well as the standard medicine, morphine, but with fewer side effects like sleepiness or nausea. About 171 teens will use a self-controlled pain pump after surgery, and neither they nor the doctors will know which medicine they are getting.
