New drug aims to get patients eating and home faster after surgery

NCT ID NCT07412223

Summary

This study is testing if a new pain medication called tegileridine helps people recover faster after abdominal surgery. Researchers want to see if it helps patients' bowels start working again sooner than the standard morphine, allowing them to eat solid food and pass gas more quickly. About 152 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug or morphine through a pain pump after their operation.
