New shot could ease Kids' ear surgery pain without opioids

NCT ID NCT07276906

Summary

This study is comparing two methods to manage pain after a common children's ear surgery. Researchers want to see if a targeted numbing shot near the ear (Nerve of Arnold block) works as well as the standard pain shots, which include an opioid. The goal is to find a way to control pain effectively while reducing side effects like nausea and breathing problems that can come from opioid medications.
