New pacemaker technique aims to tame silent heart rhythm threats

NCT ID NCT07250529

Summary

This study is testing whether a newer method of placing a pacemaker wire, called left bundle branch pacing, is better than the standard method at reducing episodes of fast, irregular heart rhythms. Researchers will compare the two techniques in 244 patients who need a pacemaker for a slow heart rate but have normal heart pumping function. The goal is to see if the newer method leads to fewer and shorter episodes of these concerning rhythms, which can increase stroke risk.
