Researchers seek safer test for hormone deficiency linked to mood problems

NCT ID NCT07361263

Summary

This study aims to find a safer way to diagnose oxytocin deficiency, which is common in people with AVP-Deficiency (central diabetes insipidus) and may cause anxiety and low mood. Researchers are testing if two common oral estrogen pills can safely trigger the release of oxytocin in the body, creating a new diagnostic test. The study involves healthy adults and patients with AVP-Deficiency to see if the pills work and if the hormone response is different between the groups.
