New scan aims to spot ovarian cancer earlier, reduce unneeded surgeries
NCT ID NCT04178018
Summary
This study is testing a new type of imaging that combines ultrasound with light to get a better picture of the ovary. The goal is to see if this method can help doctors tell the difference between harmless growths and cancer more accurately. If successful, it could help many women avoid unnecessary ovary removal surgery while still catching cancer early. The study will follow women who are at high risk for ovarian cancer or who already have a mass that needs checking.
