First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether Reiki (a hands-on energy therapy) or mindfulness meditation can reduce pain and stiffness in people with knee osteoarthritis. 164 adults were randomly assigned to receive Reiki, a sham (fake) Reiki, meditation, or just wait. All treatments were given for 20 minutes once a week for four weeks. The goal was to see if these approaches improve symptoms like pain, mood, and daily function.
