New hope for advanced throat cancer: trial tests powerful drug combo

NCT ID NCT03734809

Summary

This study is testing a new treatment approach for people with advanced nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of throat cancer). It combines an immunotherapy drug (pembrolizumab) with standard chemotherapy and radiation, aiming to better control the cancer and prevent it from spreading. The goal is to see if this combination is safe and more effective than current treatments for patients with high-risk, locally advanced disease.
