New mRNA tech takes aim at painful shingles

Summary
This study is testing a new mRNA vaccine, called SYS6017, designed to prevent shingles. It will involve 800 healthy adults aged 40 and older to see how well their immune systems respond and to check for side effects. The new vaccine will be compared against a placebo (a shot with no vaccine) and an existing, approved shingles vaccine.
