New scan strategy aims to sharpen precision of lung valve therapy
NCT ID NCT07403617
Summary
This study is testing if using a special type of scan (V/Q SPECT/CT) to pick which part of the lung to treat works better than the current standard method (CT scan and a pressure test) for people with severe emphysema. Participants will have valves placed in their lungs to help them breathe easier. Researchers will compare the two methods to see which one leads to better improvements in lung function and quality of life over a year.
