Scientists test new lithium to see if it reaches the brain better

NCT ID NCT06921590

Summary

This early-stage study aims to understand how a new crystalized form of lithium, called AL001, compares to a standard lithium pill. Six healthy volunteers will take both forms for two weeks each while staying in a hospital research unit. Researchers will use blood tests and brain scans to see how much of each drug gets into the brain and body, and to check for safety.
