New scan could spot dangerous kidney damage after heart operations

NCT ID NCT07198906

Summary

This study is testing a new ultrasound method called the VEXUS score to detect kidney injury in patients after heart surgery. Researchers will enroll 250 adults having heart surgery to see if this scan can spot kidney problems earlier and more accurately than current methods. The goal is to improve detection so doctors can intervene sooner, potentially preventing long-term kidney damage and improving recovery.
