New IV drug trial aims to help dialysis patients sleep better by relieving debilitating itch

NCT ID NCT07380113

Summary

This study aims to see if a new intravenous (IV) drug works better than an existing oral pill at improving sleep quality for people on dialysis who suffer from severe, chronic itching caused by their kidney disease. Researchers will compare the two treatments in 50 participants over four weeks, primarily using a sleep quality questionnaire. The study will also check the safety of the new IV drug and see if it improves patients' overall quality of life.
