Vine-Inspired 'Self-Guiding' tube aims to revolutionize emergency breathing procedures

NCT ID NCT07189182

Summary

This study is testing a new device designed to make placing a breathing tube (intubation) easier and more successful on the first try. The device uses a soft, vine-like tip that extends on its own to help guide it into place, which could be especially helpful in emergencies or for less experienced users. Researchers at Stanford University will test it on 15 adults having elective surgery to see if it works well and is safe.
