High-Tech camera aims to make colon surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07453797

Summary

This study is testing a new imaging device called ActivSight that helps surgeons see blood flow in real-time during colon cancer surgery. The goal is to see if this tool is as good as or better than the current standard dye method at showing which tissue is healthy, which could help prevent leaks after surgery. About 150 people scheduled for a specific type of colon surgery will have their procedure monitored with both the new and old imaging methods.
