Glowing dye could sharpen Surgeons' vision during stomach cancer operations

NCT ID NCT07276854

Summary

This study is testing a new fluorescent dye designed to help surgeons see the exact edges of stomach cancer tumors during surgery. The dye is meant to stick to cancer cells and glow under special near-infrared light, potentially making tumor removal more precise. Researchers will test the dye on tissue samples from 32 patients who are having surgery for stomach cancer to see how well it highlights cancerous versus healthy tissue.
