New scarless surgery tested to make hysterectomies safer

NCT ID NCT05884658

Summary

This study compares two surgical approaches for removing large, non-cancerous uteri: traditional laparoscopic surgery versus a newer vaginal endoscopic technique called vNOTES. Researchers aim to determine which method results in fewer complications during and after surgery. The trial involves 200 women in France and focuses specifically on cases where the uterus is large, which typically carries higher surgical risks.
