Global study tests new HIV pill to match current standard, watch for weight gain

Summary
This large, late-stage trial is testing if a new HIV drug combination (doravirine) works as well as a widely used current treatment (dolutegravir) for people starting therapy for the first time. It will enroll 610 adults across six countries and follow them for nearly two years. A key goal is to see if the new regimen controls the virus equally well while also closely monitoring long-term side effects, particularly weight gain and metabolic changes.
