First human tests begin for promising new HIV pill

Summary

This is an early-stage study to check the safety and initial antiviral effect of a new HIV medication called GS-3242. It will involve about 30 adults living with HIV who are not currently on treatment. Researchers will measure how the drug affects the amount of virus in the blood over 11 days and monitor for any side effects.
