Scientists test breakthrough combo to cure hepatitis b
NCT ID NCT05769816
Summary
This study is testing a new combination of drugs to try and achieve a 'functional cure' for chronic Hepatitis B, meaning the virus is undetectable and controlled by the immune system without ongoing medication. It will involve 120 adults with Hepatitis B who are already on standard antiviral drugs. Researchers are adding an immunotherapy drug (an anti-PD-1 antibody) to the current standard treatment to see if it can boost the immune system's ability to clear the virus.
