New heart valve balloon aims to reduce dangerous side effects

Summary
This study is testing a new medical balloon used during a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure called TAVI. The balloon is used to open the old, narrowed valve before the new valve is placed. Researchers want to see if this new balloon causes fewer electrical problems in the heart's rhythm compared to current methods. The study will enroll 93 adults with severe aortic stenosis who need a new heart valve.
