First human test of device aimed at preventing leg damage during heart operations

Summary
This is the first human study testing the safety of a new medical device called the iPerf cannula. The device is designed to protect blood flow to the leg during certain heart surgeries that use the femoral artery. The study will enroll 15 adult patients in France to monitor for safety issues and see if the device helps prevent leg circulation problems.
