Zapping the heart: new vs. old technique for stubborn irregular heartbeat

NCT ID NCT06134752

Summary

This study compares two methods for treating long-lasting atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common irregular heartbeat. It tests whether a newer 'pulse field' ablation technique creates more durable scars in the heart than the standard 'radiofrequency' method to better block the faulty electrical signals. Researchers will check the heart's electrical activity again after three months to see which treatment's effects last longer.
