New Two-Drug combo challenges standard Four-Drug treatment for stomach bug

NCT ID NCT05647278

Summary

This study tested whether a simpler two-drug treatment works as well as the standard four-drug treatment for eliminating H. pylori stomach bacteria. Researchers compared a new acid-reducing drug called Tegoprazan plus amoxicillin against the standard four-drug regimen in 370 adults with their first H. pylori infection. The goal was to see if the simpler treatment could effectively clear the infection while being easier for patients to take.
