New gel may boost physical therapy for aching knees

NCT ID NCT07308470

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special gel containing a pain-relief medicine (etodolac) to standard physical therapy helps people with knee osteoarthritis more than physical therapy alone. Thirty adults aged 45-60 with mild to moderate knee arthritis will be randomly assigned to receive either just physical therapy or physical therapy plus the gel for four weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain, knee function, and leg strength to see if the combination works better.
